There are thirty six congregations and secular institutes working in Mbarara Archdiocese. There are six religious congregations who have formation houses in Mbarara Archdiocese.
The Episcopal Vicar for Religious is Fr. Thadeus Mchomba, who was appointed in 2021. He has promoted good relations between the Diocese and the religious.
