Sacred Orders
Archbishop Bainomugisha was ordained a priest of Mbarara Diocese at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral, Nyamitanga by Bishop Paul K. Bakyenga on 13th July 1991. He was nominated by Pope Benedict XVI as the Auxiliary Bishop of Mbarara with the titular See of Tacia Montana on 2nd July 2005, and received his Episcopal Ordination on 1st October 2005.
He served as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Hoima from 13th November 2009 to 29th February 2016. Following this, he returned to the Archdiocese of Mbarara as Auxiliary Bishop. On 25th April 2020, Pope Francis elected him as the new Archbishop and Metropolitan of Mbarara. He took canonical possession of the Archdiocese on 20th June 2020.
