First Community in Uganda

The Archdiocese of Mbarara was privileged to host the first Chemin Neuf Community in Uganda. This pioneering community is based at The University of St. Joseph Mbarara.

Community Members

The community at The University of St. Joseph Mbarara consists of two priests and other community members who are not priests but are temporarily professed.

Ministries

The Chemin Neuf Community is instrumental in various ministries, particularly focusing on youth and family services:

• Youth Ministry: Actively involved with the youth, who form the majority at The University of St. Joseph Mbarara.
• Cana Couples Ministry: Providing spiritual guidance and support to couples.
• Family Ministry: Engaging in activities that support and strengthen family life.
